VotingSmarter is a mobile and web application that users can utilize to figure out what political candidate they match with the best.
Users can sign-in through certain identification processes and fill out basic information.
This information is used to locate political candidates that might be on the state level.
Users are prompted with different political questions through a stack of cards. The user can then choose to swipe the card left or right or press a button depending on the whether they agree or disagree with the statement.
We gave users the option to go back and skip questions to give them free range over their answers.
The app would provide the user with the political candidate that they align with the most based on their answers.
Users are then provided with results based on how well they match with a candidate. Users can also see how well they associate with other political candidates.
While it was a work in progress, users would then be able to find links to contact political offices or provide donations to a campaign.
While VotingSmarter may have started as a mobile application. We were pivoting towards different business models that included a website and a browser installer to utilize while using the web. VotingSmarter is also looking at developing a model that would help users contribute to a political campaign through online purchases.
